FUNNY FARM HERBS Important information for unpacking your new plants: Be sure to unpack your box of plants immediately. Be sure to remove the manila folder that surrounds each pot carefully. Gently remove the paper toweling that is holding the soil in each pot preferably by cutting away the tape that is holding it in place. Please note that a strong healthy root system is important to the life of your plant so be gentle while removing the packing materials from the box as well from around the plant itself. At times the foliage can be damaged in shipping but the plant will recover nicely if it has a healthy root system which all of my plants are well rooted before they are shipped. Please note that after the plant has recovered from being shipped it will regrow the damaged foliage quickly given the proper care and lighting and of course watering if needed, so check each pot and water pots that are dry. A quick fix for a plant that arrives wilted and stressed would be to put it in the bathroom, close the door and run a hot shower. The plants will respond quickly to the moisture in the air. Place your plants in good light but out of any hot noon day sun for a few days so the can adjust from shipping, then you can move them to their permanent location. Be sure to determine what the plant requirements are for each plant and allow your plants at least a week to adjust to their new home before you transplant or fertilize them. If your plants are to be planted outside in your garden, slowly acclimate them to the outdoors by gradually exposing them to the sunlight and the outdoors. Once your plants have gotten accustomed to their new environment they will require repotting. Repot each plant into a larger pot and increase pot size for example a 4 inch potted plant should be repotted into a 6-7 inch pot. The root system needs time to grow into each new pot. Gently tap the sides and the bottom of the pot to loosen the plants root ball from it’s pot, but never pull the plant out of the pot by pulling on the plant itself because some plants have a fragile root system and by doing this you could destroy their root system.
