Medinilla is a high altitude rain forest plant from the Philippines. In it's native habitat it is an erect shrub to 6 feet tall. It has medium sized leathery dark green leaves and is one of the most spectacular flowering houseplants available! It grows up to eighteen inch long clusters of bright pink flowers that hang down from stems of lush tropical leaves in summer and fall followed by pendant clusters of pink berries. Medinilla likes bright shade, high humidity, and warm temperatures. It thrives in bright light and with excellent drainage.
