Cestrum 'Newellii' Red Cestrum is an upright growing evergreen shrub to 6 to 8 feet tall with dark green slightly downy foliage. At the branch tips are held clusters of showy crimson red flowers nearly year round in mild winter and spring through fall in colder climates.

Flowers are followed by red-purple berries. Plant in full sun with regular irrigation. The flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Evergreen to around 20 and hardy but deciduous to 10 to 15F. This plant is possibly a hybrid between C. fasciculatum x C. elegans but is often listed as Cestrum fasciculatum var. 'Newellii'.
